OCAS Launches New Mobile App for Applying to College
GUELPH, ON, December 16, 2015 – The Ontario College Application Service has announced the launch of the ontariocolleges.ca mobile app, which puts the complete apply-to-college experience right in applicants’ hands.
The app allows users to create an application or log into an existing one, explore Ontario college programs, create a Favourites list of programs they’re interested in, add program choices, request transcripts from Ontario secondary and postsecondary institutions, pay for and submit an application, and view, accept and decline offers of admission. The easy-to-navigate dashboard and simple touch-and-swipe actions make the experience fast, easy and accessible.
“We’d like to thank our college partners for their support as we piloted the Explore version of the app,” says Karen Creditor, CEO of OCAS. “The mobile world is relatively new to the college system, and with their hands-on experimenting and valuable feedback, we’ve been able to make the full version of our app even stronger.”
“We really listened to what our applicants were saying,” said OCAS’ Director of Service Delivery, Paul Wemyss. “Our annual applicant satisfaction survey results reflected that mobile was an area we needed to focus on. After extensive testing and research with focus groups, we believe our app delivers the best college application experience in a format that’s easy to use.”
